Barito Renewables Completes Retrofit Project, Enhancing Capacity and Operational Efficiency

Jakarta, 6 October 2025 - PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (IDX: BREN), through its subsidiary Star Energy Geothermal, has completed the retrofit project for Units 4, 5, and 6 of the Salak Geothermal power plant. The project successfully added a total installed capacity of 7.7 megawatts (MW), exceeding the initial target of 7.2 MW, with a total investment value of US$ 22.5 million.

“The completion of the Salak retrofit project reflects our continued commitment to enhancing asset performance, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability. This milestone was made possible through the dedication and strong collaboration of our entire team,” said Hendra Soetjipto Tan, President Director of Barito Renewables. “This capacity addition initiative is also aligned with the company’s strategy to strengthen its contribution to Indonesia’s clean energy transition,” Hendra added.

With the completion of this retrofit project, Star Energy Geothermal’s total installed capacity has reached 910.3 MW. In addition to geothermal power plants, Barito Renewables through its subsidiary, Barito Wind, also operates the Sidrap 1 Wind Power Plant  with a total installed capacity of 78.75 MW in Sulawesi, which was acquired by the company last year.

The capacity increase at the Salak plant is part of Barito Renewables’ broader commitment to expand its geothermal portfolio, targeting the expansion of new units and capacity increase reaching over 100 MW in the coming years, with a total commitment of investment of US$ 365 million as previously announced. These expansion projects are also expected to contribute to job creation across operational areas, both directly and indirectly.

Through the completion of the Salak retrofit project, Barito Renewables continues to reinforce its contribution to Indonesia’s renewable energy mix, while ensuring long-term value creation for all stakeholders.
